Who Are Famous Montessori Educated People?

There are many ‘famous’ people that attended a Montessori school in some stage of their life. While one can argue, that there are many successful people who were not exposed to Montessori education, interesting is that many of those who attended Montessori school praise it as one of the important success factors.

  • Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis – former first lady (John F. Kennedy)

  • T. Berry Brazelton – pediatrician and author
  • Julia Child – author, chef, TV cooking shows
  • Elizabeth Berridge – actress
  • Kami Cotler – actress
  • Melissa and Sarah Gilbert – actors

Sergey Brin and Larry Page (founders of Google) both attended Montessori preschool and both highlight that it was Montessori education that contributed to their independent thinking and success.

    there are 2 different Wetherby school in London and prince william went to a non-montessori one – its on wikipedia – you can see it for yourself.

  2. Vikram Sarabhai, front-line Scientist, India had Montessori education with a ‘school’ set up at his parents home.

    Sigmund Freud, Bertrand Russell, Einstein and many others mentioned in one of the comments, were supporters of Montessori education

    Leo Tolstoy was born in 1828 and was educated at home by French governesses. And Montessori was born in 1870 :)

  4. Sigmund Freud (1856-1939)could not have attended a Montessori school. He was born BEFORE Montessori (1870-1952).

    • I think Z, that you mix up people who supported Montessori in her life time and her educational endeavours and some who received a Montessori education.
      I don’t think Sigmund did, but his daughter Anna for sure.

  8. Yes, one of my students from the O.B.Montessori Center, Phil.Inc…. her name is LEA SALONGA is one of the famous Filipino singer and Broadway Actress. She is the star in the famous Broadway musical “Miss Saigon” and now “Cinderella” which is being shown in the Philippines stage .
